CEPME's Educational Projects

Regarding educational projects initiated by development partners, CEPME has worked closely with the Ghana Education Service in the following areas:

  • Evaluated the Safe School project (funded by USAID in 2006)
  • Assessed the Strengthening HIV/AIDS Partnerships in Education project (funded by USAID in 2007).
  • Evaluated the Non-Formal Education for Children from Worse Forms of Child Labour (funded by the International Labour Organization in 2008).
  • Organized in-service training programmes for basic school teachers in metropolitan, municipal and district directorates of education (from 2004 to date)
  • Since 2004, CEPME has developed valid and reliable end of term assessment instruments for basic schools. These assessment instruments replicate the structure of questions adopted for the assessment of pupils who participated in the Quality Improvement I Primary Schools (QUIPS) project designed and implemented by GES in collaboration with USAID. (The assessment instruments are based on the syllabus designed by GES).
  • Supported reading competitions in metropolitan, municipal and district directorates of education.
  • Established monitoring and evaluation units (supplied computers) in less endowed district directorates of education.
